“Bollicine & Sushi” does not sound very Roman but I open my arms wide open with a little jump for joy to an evening of Champagne, Prosecco and wine tasting followed by a delecious sushi dinner at Sakana.

 

 

The sparkling wine degustazione was presented by STAPPO DISTRIBUZIONE which was a lot of fun to mingle with local Roman restauranteurs and talking vino with Andrea Liguori from Osteria Grappolo D’oro. They are especially known in the city, voted by italians for having one of the best and most authentic Carbonara (a traditional Roman pasta). It is one of my favorite local restaurants in Rome conveniently situated in the center, right by Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona.

Sticking with the favorite theme, we headed over to Sakana  Japanese restaurant. Eating Italian food everyday is heavenly but sometimes you just crave something different like a good burger or in this case, fresh sushi. This is hands down the best sushi in the city and it seems the Romans are in agreement since it is busy every time I go. I hardly ever open the menu, trusting Yasu (who is very sweet and a total expert at sushi and wine pairing) to bring out a mouth watering selection.
